Introduction to London
Meet clients at their hotel. Travel to Westminster and see the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey (entrance not included). Stroll through atmospheric back streets dating from the C18th, heading for St James's Park to watch the famous Changing of the Guard outside Buckingham Palace. After bustling Piccadilly Circus & Trafalgar Square we head for the City by bus, or take a boat down the Thames (small additional cost) with views of the London Eye, St Paul's Cathedral and Tower Bridge. We get off at the 900 year old Tower of London before returning to their hotel.
Meet clients at their hotel. Travel to London Bridge and explore Southwark where Chaucer's pilgrims began their journey in The Canterbury Tales. The world of Shakespeare is conjured up as we see the recreated Globe Theatre. Crossing the Thames by the Millennium Bridge we can have lunch in a pub once frequented by Dickens. Through quiet alleys we see Dr Johnson's House before heading towards Bloomsbury & hearing about George Orwell, T S Eliot and Virginia Woolf amongst others. We can visit one of Dickens's homes (small additional cost), now a museum where the creaking floorboards once echoed to his footsteps.
Historic City and Greenwich
Meet clients at their hotel. Travel by bus or tube to the City. Walking tour exploring hidden alleys and gardens, medieval and modern architecture, and hearing how popular English phrases derive from the famous financial institutions. Travel by Docklands Light Railway to the striking modern architecture of Canary Wharf before arriving in maritime Greenwich. Explore the historic buildings, stand astride the Greenwich Meridian and marvel at one of London’s most stunning interiors. For a small additional cost we can return by a boat cruise down the Thames.
